So here's another installment of "awesome times in photojournalism"
This one happened about 15 minutes ago, so its hot off the digital press.
So some Brendan was walking out of work last monday night, and walked past a random dude, who in turn, shot him in the butt. Brendan just got out of the hospital today, and the paper asked me to take a picture of him where he was shot. Usually, people who get shot in the butt or anyone who gets shot for that manner will not want to get their picture taken, especially at the place where they were shot. But Brendan gladly acquiesced, saying he'd meet me in 10 minutes.
Most portraits I take are serious, especially when the person has been harmed in some way. Not with Brendan. He kept pretending to use his cane as a gun, and repeatedly gave the thumbs up, playing goofy. I kept having to ask him to act serious, but not before I took several silly photos, two of which are above.
He also asked if I had a bottle of strawberry syrup in my car, and said if I did (I didn't, unfortunately), he would lie on the ground and pour the syrup all over his butt, so it would look like the crime scene.
Just wanted to show some awesomeness with you.
